About This Quote

The United States has no record of stopping genocide. The last time the US did intervene in a genocide was in the 1990’s in the Rwandan genocide. Despite being an ally to Europe, the US had very little to do with how Europe dealt with Africa. The Uganda example is more recent.

When the government of Uganda passed the Anti-Homosexuality Act, there was no outcry from the United States to stop it. Instead, the US was so interested in other markets that it did not care at all whether homosexuality was outlawed or not. As for condemning genocide occurring, President Obama has yet to do that even though many other countries have done so.

While the US has admitted its guilt against crimes committed by its citizens over the years, it has never admitted to any wrongdoing committed by its citizens abroad. The United States has never stopped a genocide because it does not want to be stopped by anyone else.
